ALABAMA

What insurance carriers can I access through Olive Cover in Alabama?

Olive Cover is the consumer brand of Olive Insurance Services, LLC, an independent Alabama property and casualty agency. Because we are independent, we are not tied to one insurer -- we have access to multiple carrier markets and place your coverage with the one that fits your situation. For Alabama, the markets available through us (as of July 2026) include:

Personal lines: Chubb, Private Client Select, Openly, Foremost, Progressive, Liberty Mutual, Jewelers Mutual, RLI, Selective, Steadily (non-admitted / surplus lines).

Commercial lines: The Hartford, Travelers, Chubb, CNA, Hanover, Philadelphia, Berkley Aspire, Berkley Management Protection, Employers, Pie Insurance, Coalition, AEGIS, Goldleaf (surety bonds), Propeller (surety bonds), RT Specialty (E&S / surplus lines, non-admitted).

Life: Crump Life Insurance Services.

Why access to more than one market matters: insurers price the same person differently and each has its own appetite -- one may welcome a coastal home or a new business that another declines. Access to several markets means a better chance of matching your specific situation to a market that wants it, at a fair price. We do not rate or rank carriers; a coverage review compares the available options for your profile and recommends the fit.

A note on non-admitted markets: A few options (such as Steadily and RT Specialty) are non-admitted, or surplus-lines, carriers. They are used when the standard market will not cover a risk. They are legitimate and regulated, but they are not backed by the Alabama Insurance Guaranty Association, so the guaranty-fund safety net that applies to admitted carriers does not apply. We will always tell you when a quote is from a non-admitted market and why.

How We Use Our Carrier Relationships

Having appointments is one thing. Using them well is another.

1

We review your situation

We look at what you have, what you need, and what risks your current policy may not be covering. Most clients find at least one gap they did not know about.

2

We match to the right carrier

Each carrier has a different appetite, pricing structure, and claims track record. We match your specific profile to the carrier most likely to perform well for your situation, not just the first one that qualifies.

3

We place and stay

We place the coverage and remain your advisor. We re-shop at renewal, advocate on claims, and reach out if a better option becomes available.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

Why does working with an independent agency matter for carrier choice?

An independent agency represents multiple carriers and chooses the one that best fits your risk profile, price target, and claims expectations. Captive agents only offer one carrier and one set of products.

What is the difference between admitted and non-admitted carriers?

Admitted carriers are licensed and regulated by the state insurance department and follow filed rate and form rules. Non-admitted (surplus lines) carriers write risks the standard market declines, with more pricing flexibility.
